The National Insurance Crime Bureau<\/a> (NICB) released its annual \u201cHot Wheels Report<\/a>,\u201d today identifying the 10 most stolen vehicles in the U.S. <\/p>\n

The report examines vehicle theft data submitted by law enforcement to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and determines the vehicle make, model and model year most reported stolen in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, Florida ranks among the top for most cars stolen annually,\u201d says Dustyn Shroff<\/a>, Vice President of GreatFlorida Insurance<\/a>, Florida\u2019s top independent car insurance<\/a> agency.<\/p>\n

The report not only examines the top cars stolen nationwide,
\nbut also looks at the most popular cars stolen by state. The most common cars taken
\nin Florida include:<\/p>\n

  1. Ford Pickup (Full size) 2006<\/li>\n
  2. Nissan Altima 2017<\/li>\n
  3. Toyota Camry 2018<\/li>\n
  4. Toyota Corolla 2017<\/li>\n
  5. Honda Accord 2017<\/li>\n
  6. Honda Civic 2016<\/li>\n
  7. Chevrolet Pickup (Full size) 2018<\/li>\n
  8. Hyundai Sonata 2013<\/li>\n
  9. Nissan Sentra 2017<\/li>\n
  10. Hyundai Elantra 2017<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation<\/a> (FBI), in 2018 a total of 748, 841 were stolen across the U.S. Officials believe popular cars are often the target of theft because their parts are easier to sell for money.<\/p>\n

    \u201cCar thieves are always coming up with new ways to steal cars, so it is good to protect them,\u201d says Dustyn Shroff<\/a>, Vice President of GreatFlorida Insurance<\/a>, Florida\u2019s largest independent car insurance<\/a> agency.<\/p>\n

    The NICB has tips for a multi-step approach to guard against
    \nvehicle theft.<\/p>\n
