{"id":3804,"date":"2020-04-07T16:32:21","date_gmt":"2020-04-07T20:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.greatflorida.com\/?p=3804"},"modified":"2026-05-12T20:24:53","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T00:24:53","slug":"auto-insurance-reimbursement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greatflorida.com\/blog\/2020\/auto-insurance-reimbursement\/","title":{"rendered":"Auto Insurance Reimbursement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two auto insurance companies, Allstate and American Family Insurance plan to reimburse their customers millions of dollars because people are driving less during the coronavirus outbreak. \u201cAs circumstances change, the insurance industry is also required to make adjustments for agents and our clients,\u201d says <a _blank=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dustyns\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dustyn Shroff<\/a>, Vice President of <a aria-label=\"GreatFlorida (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greatflorida.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GreatFlorida<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatflorida.com\/\"> Insurance<\/a>, Florida\u2019s leading independent <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greatflorida.com\/florida-auto-insurance\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">auto insurance<\/a> agency.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, both auto insurance companies announced they will reimburse their customers per car that a household has insured with the company. People are driving less and the <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greatflorida.com\/florida-auto-insurance\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">auto insurance<\/a> companies are experiencing fewer claims.<\/p>\n<p>Other insurance companies are expected to do likewise. While<br \/>\nacknowledging it is probably not enough, insurance industry experts agree it is<br \/>\na good first step.<\/p>\n<p>State Farm says they will decide on premiums by the end of the week. The drop has even led to a plummet in gas prices over the past month. <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/state-gas-price-averages\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">AAA<\/a> reports the average gas price per gallon in Florida has gone from$2.40 to $1.89. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cReimbursing is one way carriers are adjusting to the sudden changes from this pandemic, \u201csays <a _blank=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dustyns\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dustyn Shroff<\/a>, Vice President of <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.greatflorida.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GreatFlorida Insurance<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancejournal.com\/news\/southeast\/2020\/04\/01\/562939.htm\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Insurance Journal<\/a> has an article, \u201cWhat Florida Agents Need to Know During Coronavirus Crisis,\u201d discussed is reimbursement and flexibility on terms.
