Also, look into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatflorida.com\/florida-flood-insurance\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">flood insurance<\/a>. It must be purchased separately from your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatflorida.com\/florida-homeowners-insurance\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">homeowners insurance<\/a> and it takes 30 days to go into effect.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure your coverage limits for belongings and the home\u2019s structure are equal to replacement and reconstruction costs. The actual cash value is the depreciated value from when you purchased an item. The replacement cost is the amount you need to buy the item new.<\/p>\n<p>Ask about temporary accommodations. This pays for additional living expenses such as a hotel and meals if your home is unlivable due to hurricane damage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Renters Insurance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your landlord is responsible for the structure of your rental.
