Before you prepare a festive meal for family and friends or go shopping for gifts, you might want to be aware of some recalled products.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile these products might be gone from the shelves, they could be in your home,\u201d says Dustyn Shroff<\/a>, Vice President of GreatFlorida Insurance<\/a>, Florida\u2019s largest independent auto insurance<\/a> agency.<\/p>\n

Vehicles<\/strong><\/p>\n

Honda SUV’s and pickups are being recalled because the hoods can open while cars are in motion. Certain 2019 Passports, 2016 through 2019 Pilots and 2017 through 2020 Ridgeline pickups are the vehicles in question. Honda says the hood latch striker can become damaged and separate from the hood. Dealers will either repair the striker or replace the hood, if necessary, at no cost to owners. Honda will notify customers by letter starting January 17.<\/p>\n

Ford is recalling Bronco Sport and Escape SUV’s over a brake issue. Some 2021 and 2022 Bronco Sport and Escape SUV’s are experiencing a reduction in the vehicle\u2019s power brake performance related to the rear brake lining. The automaker will start notifying customers January 10 to bring in their vehicles for a fix.<\/p>\n

Check the NHTSA<\/a> (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website to see if your vehicle is involved in the following recalls.<\/p>\n

\u201cConsuming the following products could lead to serious illness, be sure to check your refrigerator and freezer, says Dustyn Shroff<\/a>, Vice President of GreatFlorida Insurance, <\/a>Florida’s largest independent homeowners<\/a> insurance agency.<\/p>\n

Pork products are being recalled from Alexander & Hornung. Fully cooked ham and pepperoni have possible exposure to listeria. Products include, \u201cSpiral Sliced Ham\u201d and \u201cNiman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Ham.\u201d The USDA<\/a> (U.S. Department of Agriculture) has a full list of the food in question.<\/p>\n

Consuming food contaminated with listeria bacteria, according to the CDC<\/a> (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), can cause serious or fatal infections in children, elderly people, those with compromised immune systems, pregnant women, and newborns. Symptoms include, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions in addition to high fever, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Symptoms can start as long as 70 days from exposure.<\/p>\n

Innovation Solutions Inc. is recalling raw ground chicken patty products that might be contaminated with bone pieces. They include, \u201cTrader Joes Chili Lime Chicken Burgers\u201d and \u201cSpinach Feta Chicken Sliders\u201d. Check the USDA<\/a> website for more details on the products in question.<\/p>\n
